Meet the leaders

A case study by Ellesia Hanna, Youth Social Action Apprentice at Nottingham College, Derby College and Leicester College.

On 7th March, we hosted Meet the Leaders, an event that brought young people and local leaders together for an afternoon of inspiring talks and great conversation. The event took place at the Adams Building at Nottingham College, allowing students to engage with decision-makers and discuss what matters most to them.

The day kicked off with a keynote speech from Tranai Todd, founder of Support Through Sport. Tranai shared his powerful journey of setting up an organisation dedicated to helping young people build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills through sports. Having started as a young leader himself, Tranai spoke about the importance of youth voice in shaping community projects and how his own experiences in youth leadership influenced his mission to create inclusive sporting opportunities for young people across Nottingham. His story was a perfect example of how passion and persistence can lead to real impact.
