To sign up to an induction or join the waitlist, please visit: Governor Inductions | ETF Booking.

The programme is for new college governors or governors who have been in their role for less than 12 months and have not attended an induction before.

Each induction will aim to inform the learning of new board members, covering the following topics and much more:

  • The role of a governor
  • Local and national policy
  • The code of good governance
  • Management and governance
  • Quality assurance
  • Equality and diversity.

The registration for the induction events will be staggered. The first four inductions will be open from 1 July 2025, two more will open at the end of August 2025, and the final two will open for bookings in October 2025. We ask that Governance Professionals do not book places unless they know that a governor can attend.

Due to high demand, two weeks before each induction, we will make contact to ensure that you are still able to attend. If a Governance Professional registers and does not provide us with the contact details of the governor two weeks before the event, their place will be withdrawn to allow someone on the waitlist an opportunity to attend.

Please be aware that these inductions are not suitable for Student Governors.
