ETF Student Governor Inductions 2025/26

These inductions are designed to empower new student governors with the knowledge and confidence they need to thrive in their roles. Through a dynamic introduction to the current further education landscape, participants will gain valuable insights into sector challenges and opportunities. The sessions will also highlight the vital role student governors play on the board, ensuring they understand their influence and the importance of their contributions from day one.

AoC will be delivering four 2-hour online inductions for new student governors between October and December 2025. This training is strictly for individuals that have taken the position of Student Governor on a College Board.

All inductions will be delivered online and are free to attend.

“I got a really robust understanding of what my role as a governor is, learning about the codes we need to follow and the principles. I learnt about how to make the most of my meetings and how to ask the right questions, and I love that we had a scenario to practice at the end. I definitely feel more confident in my role as a student governor, and the fact that we are governors, despite being students, and that our voice is as equally as important as everyone else's was a key message I think I needed to hear.”

• Tuesday 2 December 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
