AoC's Equity Exchange
Across the further education sector, there are a lot of exciting and innovative approaches to providing equity for our staff and students.
However, best practice can often exist in silos, and we need to take time to reflect, share what we have learned, to inspire and uplift one another as we embark on the transformation of our institutions. We need more resources that champion inclusive learning experiences for every student and that foster an environment where all feel valued and heard.
To ensure that individuals in organisations feel supported and have a space in which they can share their expertise, AoC has launched an EDI forum, Equity Exchange.
Equity Exchange is grounded in the belief that true growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones.
Led by colleges, these meetings will be a space for practitioners to come together, share, challenge and support one another. By fostering a psychologically safe space, we empower individuals to lead with curiosity, take risks, and safely share ideas. It is through this collective effort that we can drive innovation, transform our approach to education, and create a more inclusive and dynamic learning environment for all.
The first meetings take place in colleges across the country on the following dates:
- 25 April, Sheffield College
- 5 June, Peterborough
- 11 June, Swindon
- 17 June, Capel Manor, London
- 18 June, Kirklees College
If your colleagues within your organisation are actively working on or considering inclusivity in their curriculum, we would love you to join. Please contact nylah.ali@aoc.co.uk.
If you have attended one of our Equity Exchange meetings, you will be provided with a password to access the event resources here.
