Ian Munro, Director for Sustainability, Health and Care, Association of Colleges said: "Colleges play a crucial role in addressing these challenges by providing innovative education and training solutions. We support the shift towards community-based health and social care, emphasising the importance of a 'one workforce' approach. By increasing opportunities for learning across the community-based health and social care sectors, colleges can help build a workforce that is adaptable, skilled, and ready to meet the demands of the future.

"Collaboration is vital, with NHS providers, further education colleges, and universities needing to work together. By joining forces, we can open up more pathways into NHS careers, especially in underserved areas and for underrepresented communities. This will break down barriers to opportunity, ensuring young people have the right pathways through further and higher education into good jobs that bolster our NHS and support the health of our country."
