Creative Writing in FE - Developing student voice through the written word

 image

Submissions for the project closed on the 12th May 2023. We are happy to have received a fantastic amount of written pieces from students studying at over 30 colleges. We are currently reading and selecting successful submissions, and we hope to publish the online anthology during summer 2023. We will be making contact in early July with the colleges who submitted pieces to confirm the next steps.

The Creative Writing in FE project is supported by the Copyright Licencing Agency and gives students in FE colleges the chance to create their own piece of creative writing, covering different genres and themes. It will be an opportunity for our fantastic young people to creatively explore issues that are key to them and their peers, alongside building their own creative writing practice and portfolios.

There will be the chance to learn from authors, to understand different creative processes and approaches to writing, and to have work published via the AoC in an online anthology.

We are the Copyright Licensing Agency and we exist to simplify copyright for content users and copyright owners. Our mission is to help customers legally access, copy and share the published content they need, while also making sure that copyright owners are paid fair royalties for the use of their work.

What we do

  • For more than 30 years we’ve been providing rights and licences, as well as a growing range of services that simplify copyright by making it easier to access and re-use content.
  • Our range of blanket licences enable customers to copy and share extracts from published copyright content, without having to seek permission or worry about infringing copyright.
  • We are non profit-making, so our revenue is distributed to our member organisations who pay royalties direct to copyright owners - authors, publishers and visual artists.
  • The efficiency of our service, depth of our expertise and our innovative services make us the provider of choice for content users and copyright owners.
