The Sheffield College is a further and higher education college that provides academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 14,500 young people and adults a year. We have high aspirations and standards for ourselves, and our learners and this role will be a key one in supporting the College’s mission to be consistently great and ensure our students get the qualifications and skills they need to go further in employment, careers, apprenticeships, further training and university level courses. Our mission is transforming lives through learning. The college, which is Ofsted graded ‘good’, provides high-quality academic, technical, and vocational training to enhance qualifications, skills, and employability across the region, and operates from a number of campuses and sites across the city.
We are seeking a Director of People Services who will provide leadership for the People Business Partnering and Advisory function and People Operations (including payroll and recruitment), and will drive continuous improvement across all People services. Through expert employment relations advice, operational excellence, and a human-centred approach, you will support the delivery of the People Plan and help make the college a Great Place to Work. Reporting directly to the Executive Director – People, and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the People Experience and People Operations teams to deliver accuracy, compliance and consistently excellent service.
You will be a dynamic, proactive, values-based leader with a moral purpose who puts students first and has an unwavering commitment to achieving for all. An individual with integrity, who prioritises communication and collaboration, empowers others, and is visible and accessible to staff.
