New assistant managers for England Colleges Women's National Team

The ECFA is delighted to have recruited two assistant managers for the England Colleges Women’s National Team for next season. Jenny Hinton and Jodie Whitford-Starke both come with a high pedigree of coaching and have a great enthusiasm for developing the next generation of female footballers. Jenny Hinton is currently a coach at Birmingham City Women’s Regional Talent Club (RTC) and has worked with elite footballers in their development centre. She is looking forward to her role as assistant manager and developing the talents of the best female college players in the country. Jenny began coaching at the age of 16 with Chasetown Boy’s pre-academy team and has worked on several player development programs in the UK. She said: “During my coaching journey I saw my players gain a lot of confidence and go on to achieve great things in their game and in their professional lives off the pitch. “I think the most important factor is to instil a love for the game and ensure that when we leave a session we are both disappointed that the time has ended so quickly. “I’m excited to begin my role as assistant manager and continue the excellent foundations that have already been set, as well as helping to develop and set the standards for the players. I cannot wait to get started and get onto the grass.” Jodie Whitford-Starke is a UEFA B license coach who works in the Premier League Academy system for Watford FC coaching the boys foundation phase players. She also works part time as an FA Tutor and as a university lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. Before this, she coached for Chelsea FC in the club’s international department, across Europe, Asia and the USA. Jodie also has experience in the RTC system with Sheffield United and was the Women’s Academy Manager at Astrea Academy Woodfields (formerly known as Balby Carr). She said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the ECFA as an assistant coach as it’s a great opportunity for me to work with the best players from all over the country. “The programme offers them a unique opportunity and unbelievable experiences and I want to contribute to that by aiding their personal and player development. “It’s also a great chance to learn from the experiences and ideas of the other coaches involved and I can’t wait to get started when it’s safe to do so.” Find out more about the England Colleges National Teams here.
