Youth Social Action Apprentice Impact Report 2024 - 2025

Over the last two years, the Pears Foundation funded phase two of the Youth Social Action Apprentice Programme, aimed to embed youth social action in further education whilst enhancing student voice and autonomy to take part in project-based learning, tackling issues they are passionate about. Social action is an activity that positively impacts a group of people, an individual or a particular environment. During this programme, the students developed transferable skills and meaningful work experience whilst giving back to their local community.

In June 2023, five AoC member colleges recruited five Youth Social Action Apprentices to deliver youth social action in their college as well as 1-2 other colleges in their regions. The apprentices completed a Level 3 Youth Support Worker qualification, whilst completing their on-the-job role of supporting students to complete projects on causes they are passionate about.

This report shows the impact from year two of the programme.
