Education, Skills & Policy Briefing 05/09/2024
This week's Education, Skills and Policy briefing includes details of Level 2 technical occupational qualifications – cycle 1, Beacon Award 24/25 applications closing soon and the AQA Project Excellence Award.
Level 2 technical occupational qualifications – cycle 1
DfE has released details of Level 2 technical occupational and additional specialist qualifications in childcare; construction; engineering; health and social care; sport, leisure and recreation; transportation; manufacturing and nursing and allied professions for delivery from September 2025.
ESFA and qualification reform
As you are aware, DfE has placed a pause on the removal of 16-19 funding from qualifications assessed as overlapping with T Levels, due to take place 31 July 2024 to allow space for the review of qualifications reform. The ESFA update ‘Find a learning aim’ (FALA) at regular intervals and the extension of funding for these qualifications will be reflected in their upcoming update in September.
Beacon Award 24/25 applications close next week
Applications for the Beacon Awards 24/25 close on Wednesday 11 September.
