Deputy Principal Finance & Resources
Salary: c. £120,000
Organisation: Barking and Dagenham College
Location: London
Closing Date: 20 Jan 2026
Barking & Dagenham College is a unique, diverse and inclusive environment where everyone is supported to grow, develop and really flourish. The college is a highly successful education and skills provider, embedded as an impactful anchor institution in the local area. Our courses include technical and professional education courses in specialist areas and a range of learning opportunities for school leavers to graduates and anyone looking to expand their knowledge and skills. Clear progression routes enable you to move on to further study, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and sustainable employment. We are committed to the success and well-being of our learners, staff, employers, and local community. We are passionate about inclusivity and providing a nurturing environment, with the best possible outcomes and experiences, for our students.
As our Deputy Principal of Finance and Resources, you will play a crucial role in the collective leadership of the College, taking an executive lead in all aspects of the financial and estates management, and a broader portfolio that fits with your skills. Reporting to the Principal and Chief Executive and as a member of the Executive and Senior Leadership Team, you will create systems that support managers whilst maintaining all the controls required by the Corporation and ensuring accountability for public funds. You will lead the initiative to establish and maintain a central data set that can be used by all to visualise their own and the College’s performance.
You will be an authentic leader ready to make a profound impact and need to share our passion for inclusivity and exceptional learner experience. Additionally, you will be a qualified accountant with experience in managing a complex organisation and experience working with and supporting multidisciplinary teams who share a collective ambition to deliver.
While FE experience is not essential, the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate experience working in a highly complex environment, experience working with similarly challenging funding regimes or the ability to quickly learn and adapt.
If you believe that you have the drive, vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference.
