Inspection and accountability
The policy paper aligns with the Opportunity England recommendation, 'investing in our future'.
Implementing these recommendations will support Opportunity England’s vision by simplifying and streamlining inspection
and accountability processes for FE institutions. This will lead to more effective resource allocation, enhancing the quality and relevance of educational offerings and shifting the focus of audit away from inputs and towards outcomes. Improved inspection processes with appropriate expertise and standards will ensure fair and relevant evaluations, contributing to the overall improvement in education quality and alignment with labour market needs. These changes will foster a more adaptable, responsive, and skilled workforce, aligning with the broader goals of economic growth and productivity.
