Higher technical education

This policy paper aligns with the Opportunity England recommendation, 'a new statutory right to lifelong learning'.

Colleges have a unique role to play in providing opportunities for lifelong learning, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Adequate funding and resources complemented by streamlined and proportionate regulation will help to remove barriers on the supply side, while better coordinated careers advice and financial support will help tackle the challenges on the demand for higher technical education and lifelong learning. Collectively, this will help drive economic growth and productivity both locally and nationally, and offer better life and work opportunities for all, as set out in Opportunity England.
