- Update UCU Industrial Action 14 October 2014
Update UCU Industrial Action 14 October 2014
19th June 2019
This afternoon Westminster Kingsway College supported by AoC were successful at the High Court in securing an injunction against UCU regarding their proposed industrial action due to take place tomorrow 14 October 2014.
UCU confirmed that there would be no need for multiple claimants and that the resultant judgment would bind UCU and all the members of the AoC. UCU therefore will not be able to go on strike tomorrow on reliance of the protections afforded by the Trade Unions and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.
Colleges are advised to notify employees that the strike is no longer going ahead tomorrow and that they are expected to attend work as normal.
Although it is disappointing that such action was necessary, AoC in partnership with the college are pleased to have obtained the desired outcome.
