Colleges Week 2019: what's happening?
For the second year in a row AoC and partners are stepping up efforts as part of the Love Our Colleges campaign to shine a light on the amazing contribution of further education colleges across the country.
This week (14 - 18 October) colleges across the country are joining the #LoveOurColleges activity, hosting local events and speaking to their local MPs. Staff, students and local business partners will be demonstrating why investment in the sector, colleges and learner must be long-term and sustainable.
AoC has launched pledge cards aimed at helping colleges engage with their local MPs. They are designed to help colleges to show MPs and government how much local support there is for colleges and the Love Our Colleges campaign. The cards are designed for college staff, students and the local community to fill in during the week. Once completed, colleges will deliver the bundle of pledge cards to their local MPs.
For those new to the campaign, there are a host of guides and resources on the website. There are also many great examples provided of colleges who have achieved strong engagement and coverage through campaign work.
The resources are available here: • Pledge cards• The Basics of Campaigning• Template press release
Don't forget to email the campaigns team to tell us what you have planned so that we can share and retweet too.
We will be updating the Love Our Colleges website will news stories from throughout the week, so if you know of a member of staff writing a blog or a local business writing a piece - let us know so we can promote on the website.
