AoC responds to NHS workforce report

25th July 2022

Responding to the publication of the Commons Health Select Committee's report examining the health and social care workforce, David Hughes, AoC chief executive said: “Colleges offer an important route into NHS jobs for thousands of students taking a variety of technical and vocational qualifications and the first healthcare T Level students will graduate next summer.

“The important role colleges play in providing pathways to health and social care needs to be recognised in a future NHS workforce strategy. To help alleviate the workforce pressures the health services are facing, colleges need the funding to be able to ramp up delivery and grow the pipeline of future carers, nurses and occupational therapists.”
