Principal & Chief Executive
Competitive (depending on experience)
Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc) are one of the largest sixth form colleges in London with 2,300 students. They are a diverse, non-selective college and are proud to have launched 50,000 young people onto university, training and employment since they were founded in 1992. Rated by Ofsted as ‘good’ in all areas in 2015, their results for A-levels and vocational study are impressive; a massive 90% of applicants progressed to university in 2017.
The college combines great facilities with quality teaching and high standards, including a new multi-million pound building which provides a state-of-the-art, technology enabled learning resource centre, drama studio and café. The college offer their students a wide range of opportunities for learning and personal development, while also getting to know the students well and providing them with individual attention and support as they pursue their life’s journey.
With the retirement of their current Principal at the end of August 2018 we are seeking to appoint a leader with clear vision for our future in a highly competitive environment, to lead us through the next phase of our journey to ‘outstanding’. The ideal candidate will need to be an achiever who has translated vision into action, whilst at all times keeping the interests and ambition for learners at the heart of your strategies. As a leader you will inspire and motivate the whole College community and make a strong positive contribution to education in Newham and the surrounding areas.
