Colleges Week 2020 will take place Monday 19 October - Friday 23 October 2020. It is a chance to celebrate and shout about all of the brilliant things that colleges do, day in and day out to build communities, boost businesses, and support individuals. The inspiring way colleges have responded to the challenges thrown up by COVID-19 means that there will be even more inspiring and impressive stories to tell than ever before. And we’re determined to make this the biggest and best Colleges Week yet. Check out our Comms Pack or read on to find out how you can get involved.
We have lots planned but, as ever, this is your Colleges Week and whilst we have provided some themes and ideas, anything you can do to celebrate and join in is greatly welcomed. Every year we are amazed at the ideas and events that come from colleges and we cannot wait to see what you come up with this time round.
Before we jump in, it might also be worth thinking about any activities you have planned for October that could be branded as Colleges Week, without any additional work for your college - for example, student award ceremonies, community open days, or visits from your local MP. We recognise it’s been a challenging year with competing priorities so we’d like to make it as easy as possible for you to take part.
Please do let us know what you're working on, what you have planned and what you'd like to see from AoC. We’re encouraging you to go wild! Get in touch with email@example.com if you'd like to talk anything through.
Campaign Daily Themes
Click here to find out more about our themes for each day and to access a number of social media graphics. For inspiration, you can also head to Twitter to see what other colleges have planned using the hashtag #LoveOurColleges.
We will continue to use #LoveOurColleges so that we can show politicians and the public just how loved and supported colleges are, whilst also using #CollegesWeek - if it fits in your character limit.
You can also follow our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages to keep up with all announcements as they happen. We’d love it if you could tag us in your posts so that we can retweet them - our Twitter handle is @AoC_Info or @AssocOfColleges on Facebook.
Colleges Week is a key part of the Love Our Colleges campaign, and is a partnership between Association of Colleges (AoC), National Union of Students (NUS), Association of College and School Leaders (ASCL), University and Colleges Union (UCU), GMB, TUC, National Education Union (NEU) and UNISON.
