- Head of Faculty (Construction)
Head of Faculty (Construction)
Salary: £62,533
Organisation: Abingdon and Witney College
Location: Oxfordshire
Closing Date: 12 May 2024
Abingdon and Witney College is an award-winning education and skills provider in Oxfordshire, with a broad offer including vocational qualifications, apprenticeships and higher education. Over the last few years we have enjoyed significant growth, with our income increasing by over 13%, alongside notable achievements such as Hays Employer of the Year, Pearson BTEC College of the Year and a Beacon Award. We have invested in fantastic facilities and embedded an innovative, inclusive, supportive culture to ensure that we achieve our vision of being a college where everyone achieves more than they believe possible.
Our construction provision is thriving and has seen extensive development in recent years, including a new Construction Skills Centre at Witney, a Green Skills Centre at Abingdon and a Net Zero Skills Hub delivering innovative training across Oxfordshire. Student numbers in construction have doubled since 2020 and we are firmly embedded regionally as a first choice destination, due to our impressive outcomes, purposeful pathways and excellent student experience.
We are seeking a new Head of Faculty to oversee Construction provision at our Abingdon and Witney campuses, providing strategic direction and overall leadership to the faculty. Key to success will be ensuring consistently high-quality teaching and learning, spearheading innovation in pedagogy and developing our talented team. There will also be ample opportunity to further develop our curriculum, working with employers and collaborating with internal partners, to ensure we remain at the forefront of emerging skills needs in Oxfordshire and beyond.
Our successful candidate will have a strong track record of FE management, with experience of leading teams to deliver excellence. We are seeking a strong leader and role model, with the ability to develop and get the best out of staff, while providing clear direction and embedding a positive, aspirational culture. We are not stipulating experience of construction provision; we are flexible to consider leaders from all curriculum areas as long as they share our passion for ongoing excellence and our commitment to ensuring the best outcomes.
