- Looking ahead to an action-packed 2015
Looking ahead to an action-packed 2015
Welcome to 2015! There’s plenty of college sport to get excited about over the next few months, with national and regional events, cup finals, the National Championships and a brand new College Sport Conference in June.
On 27 January, our Sport in the Curriculum Conference takes place at Loughborough University. Last year’s conference was described as 'inspiring', 'informative', and 'invaluable', and there are still a handful of places left at this year’s event, which will also see the launch of our ambitions for college sport document ahead of the 2015 General Election.
Spring term Head of Sport and Operations Group meetings kick-off across the country in January and February – dates can be found in the regions area of AoC Sport's site.
One of the biggest student events in the UK, the AoC Sport National Championships, takes place on 27-29 March. Over 2,000 college staff and students will descend on the University of Bath to compete in 14 sports for individual, college and regional glory.
New for 2015 is the AoC Sport Cup Finals Week, which takes place at prestigious venues across the country on 27 April - 1 May. Venues already confirmed include Walsall FC’s Bescot Stadium and the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering.
In June, we celebrate 12 months of college sport at our College Sport Conference. The two-day event will include workshops, keynote speakers and an exciting new awards evening. Full details will be released shortly.
It promises to be a jam-packed few months – start the year by registering for one of our national events, including the Open Golf Championships and Outdoor T20 cricket, or sign-up for Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign.
