PrincipalWorthing CollegeCompetitive salary
Situated on the south coast, Worthing College is an ambitious education and skills provider with a fantastic opportunity to shine. With an income just under £8m, an impressive range of courses and flexible study programmes which ensure we are able to attract students with a wide range of abilities, we are committed to our vision of being an outstanding and inclusive college renowned for excellence in teaching and learning.
We have been on an impressive journey over the last few years, culminating in our highest ever success rates for the second consecutive year and, in 2016, a well-earned good Ofsted grade. Our college ethos of “Opportunity, Achievement, Success and Progression” is reflected in our exemplary A level and BTEC pass rates and in our focus on raising aspiration.
With a platform of success, drive and motivation to build on, we are seeking a new Principal to lead us on our journey to becoming outstanding. Our ideal Principal will be an aspirational and motivational leader, who will make excellent teaching and learning the top priority, raise ambitions across the college and always give due attention to the well-being of both staff and students. Our new Principal will also cultivate a visible external presence and develop strong relationships with our community stakeholders including excellent communications with parents at all times, ensuring that the college enjoys a high profile in the life of the local community and makes the most of commercial opportunities.
Whether you are currently in the FE world or a leader from another sector, a current serving Principal or an aspiring leader seeking your first Principal post, we are keen to hear from you. We are seeking a leader of the highest order, visible both internally and externally, who can inspire our workforce and nurture strong links outside the college. You should be entrepreneurial and commercially astute, with sound financial acumen. The ability to foster a strong team ethic in the pursuit of excellence is of paramount importance, as is a focus on creating and embedding a holistic strategy to achieve the highest levels of quality and financial sustainability.
