Current opportunity - Deputy Principal Curriculum & Quality
Telford College of Arts & TechnologyDeputy Principal - Curriculum & Quality
Following its Area Based Review and a public consultation, Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT) and New College Telford (NCT) are proposed to officially merge later this year and be rebranded as Telford College.
The merger of the two colleges will create a single college offering one of the widest choices of academic, professional and technical education and training opportunities in Shropshire, providing significant benefits to students, employers and the local communities.
It is an exciting time to be joining the senior team at TCAT. Following the appointment of the new Principal and CEO and Chief Operating Officer, we have created an impactful new structure of senior leadership posts to develop an outstanding college, one of which is the post of Deputy Principal – Curriculum & Quality.
The college is in a challenging but exciting position, having very recently improved their inadequate Ofsted grade in May 2016 to Grade 3 in June 2017 and merging with the neighbouring sixth form college. Under the guidance of the newly appointed permanent Principal, we are making significant strides forward towards our vision of ‘The ambitious college’. We take pride in our successes, such as our strong employability work and enthusiastic student cohort, while focusing on our over-riding goal of securing the best possible future for the college.
The new Deputy Principal will demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to raising standards and aspirations and improving learner outcomes. As the lead for curriculum standards and quality improvement, you will be responsible for implementing quality and performance improvement strategies which will ensure the college rapidly improves.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader and ambassador who sets high standards and is able to motivate staff at all levels to effect positive change. You will need to demonstrate a successful track record in leading curriculum and improving the quality of teaching, learning and success rates, along with a good understanding of performance data and funding.
This post provides a real opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the college and making a key impact on our learners’ outcomes. If this sounds like the type of challenge you can embrace then we would love to hear from you.
