Alison Robinson

Alison started as an FE lecturer in 1991 before rising to Chief Executive & Principal at Myerscough College in 2018. Now a freelance FE consultant, Alison continues to be a passionate educator who strives for high quality and inclusive education that transforms lives and sees FE governing bodies as playing a critical role in this mission.

12 years reporting to boards as a college senior leader, and 7 years operating as a Non-Executive Director on 8 educational boards covering the public, private and charity sectors has provided an exceptional understanding of the challenging climate for FE Boards.

Alison currently sits on 2 Boards: Inspira for Life, an educational charity that is an expert in employability skills and career management supporting over 30,000 individuals annually across the North of England. Additionally, supporting Blackpool & The Fylde College, which supports over 13,000 students annually, is ranked in the top 16% of colleges nationally for student success, is TEF Gold, and has an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating with many ‘Outstanding’ features.

Alison brings substantial experience of undertaking external reviews having worked as an independent reviewer on projects with Landex, Ofsted, and the Department for Education. She is a trusted advocate for the FE sector, is collaborative, and authentic whilst providing support and challenge.
