ETF Governor Inductions 26/27
Governor Inductions aim to support new college governors to gain a better understanding of their role in the further education sector.
The 2026/27 programme will deliver eight induction events.
- Wednesday 23 September 2026, 3-5pm
- Thursday 8 October 2026, 3-5pm
- Tuesday 20 October 2026, 3-5pm
- Wednesday 18 November 2026, 3-5pm
- Thursday 26 November 2026, 3-5pm
- Tuesday 12 January 2027, 3-5pm
- Wednesday 3 February 2027, 3-5pm
- Thursday 25 February 2027, 3-5pm.
The programme is for new college governors or governors who have been in their role for less than 12 months and have not attended an induction before.
Each induction will aim to inform the learning of new board members, covering the following topics and much more:
- The role of a governor
- Local and national policy
- The code of good governance
- Management and governance
- Quality assurance
- Equality and diversity.
The registration for the induction events will be staggered. The first five inductions are now open for registration, and the final three will open for registration in October 2026. We ask that Governance Professionals do not book places unless they know that a governor can attend, and use the Governor’s contact details.
Please be aware that these inductions are not suitable for Student Governors. To find out more about inductions specifically for student governors, please visit: ETF Student Governor Inductions 2026/27 | Association of Colleges.
The inductions are delivered by AoC and commissioned by the Education and Training Foundation on behalf of the Department for Education.
To sign up to an induction or join the waitlist, please visit: Governor Inductions 26/27 | Learning Library | Education Training Foundation. If you have any questions, please contact projects@aoc.co.uk.
