Creative Arts in FE 2026/27
In partnership with UAL Awarding Body, V&A East and the AoC Charitable Trust, AoC are delivering the Creative Arts in FE 26/27 project!
Following the success of the Creative Arts in FE programme over the past few years, we are delighted to launch a new edition for 2026. Celebrating creative writing remains at the core of this opportunity, and we would love to see responses to the brief that also include Photography, Visual and Fine Arts, Film, Animation, Performance and Spoken Word.
Creative Arts in FE gives students in FE colleges the chance to create their own piece of work in response to a brief set by UAL Awarding Body and V&A East. The theme for this year's brief will be ‘Home’. This is a great opportunity to creatively explore issues that are key to young people and their peers. We of course welcome submissions from the whole college community and would particularly encourage students who might not be enrolled in creative courses to take part.
With the help of an editing panel, we will read, look at and watch every submission. We’ll select several works to be included in an anthology and gallery. You can see 2025’s submissions at the link below. We’ll also be sharing selected submissions in a social media celebration and at an exhibition at V&A East Storehouse in June 2027.
The key ethos of this programme is taking part, and we are so pleased that students have been encouraged to put pen to paper, transform ideas into designs and, most importantly, embrace their creativity since 2023.
The Creative Arts in FE 26/27 programme has been supported by programme sponsors the UAL Awarding Body, V&A East, AoC Charitable Trust. It is facilitated and coordinated by AoC.
Project launch
The project launches on 10 November at the AoC Conference, when submissions will open.
We will also be hosting an information webinar on 27 November 16:00-17:00. We will discuss the brief, resources available and the submission guidelines for this project.
More information on the webinar and the project brief will be published in the coming weeks.
