A year of social action
Case study by Sandwell College
Through the process of the Youth Social Action Ambassador Programme, awareness of Youth Social Action (YSA) was raised around the college, what it means and why it is important for young people to get involved. The Youth Social Action Ambassadors organised various events throughout the year with the aim to give back to the community, the wider student population, local communities and other charities around the country. Sandwell College had various members of staff and students involved throughout the projects and have raised awareness by making posters, social media posts and going into classrooms to spread the word as much as possible. Through the events, the YSA Ambassadors were able to embed social action into the college culture and will continue doing this in the following years to come. Staff and students now see the benefit of YSA and have already been asked what other events are coming up.
