- Digital Insight Days 26-27
Digital Insight Days 26-27
Date: 6 October 2026
Time: 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Fee: Free
Join fellow colleges to share practical digital ideas, honest experiences and achievable approaches to strengthening digital transformation, enhancing teaching and learning, and improving the student experience.
Event dates:
Tuesday 9 October 2026 - Harlow College
TBC - NCG (Newcastle College)
We will also host events in the North West and South West once Digital Insight Hubs have been recruited.
Each event will start at 10am and finish by 3pm.
Overview
The events will be informal, with plenty of opportunities for sharing and discussion. Each Digital Insight Hub is currently shaping their own agenda, which will feature items such as:
- everyday digital practices
- authentic assessment methods
- behaviour and wellbeing strategies
- low‑cost tools that reduce workload and enhance the student experience
- an opportunity to use some edtech.
Attendees will gain realistic, transferable ideas—along with honest reflections on challenges and lessons learned—to help them begin or strengthen their own digital transformation journey.
While everyone is welcome, these events are particularly valuable to colleges who are at the "foundation" or early "transform" stages of digital transformation. See definitions of these below:
Foundation: at this stage, colleges are just beginning to engage with digital transformation and AI working practices. They are curious but inconsistent in their use of digital and AI. They are looking to develop confidence, clarity, and have simple starting points. Common features include fragmented systems, uneven digital skills, and pockets of innovation carried by enthusiastic individuals.
Transform: here, colleges have an established approach and active digital practice with growing governance, confidence and capability. Digital and AI are embedded in strategy, systems and culture. The college has a clear plan, skilled staff, data quality is improving and there is confidence to innovate. Fragmentation is reduced, and the college participates actively in sector networks.
This event is for AoC member colleges. Initially, places are limited to two people per college.
This programme is part of the work we are doing in partnership with Ufi VocTech Trust.

Feedback from the first three Digital Insight Days was very positive, with 96% of attendees stating they were satisfied or very satisfied with the event. Participants highly valued the opportunity to network, collaborate, and share practice with colleagues from across the further education sector. The case studies and digital transformation journeys shared by host colleges were particularly well received, with attendees appreciating the honest reflections, practical examples, and insights from staff, leaders, and students. Seeing digital strategies in action, learning about successful implementation approaches, and exploring digital tools and technologies provided attendees with practical ideas and inspiration to take back to their own organisations.
Here are some quotes from delegates:
“Thank you, I’m inspired and curious. Could we have a community of practice to keep this going. I know they fizzle out but we can only try.”
“This was a well organised day and networking opportunity was great. This is a demonstration of fantastic & thoughtful practice at the college.”
“Fantastic event really insightful.”
Impact on confidence:
- 89% of attendees agreed that attending the Digital Insight Day increased my confidence in integrating digital learning technologies to enhance teaching and learning, student experience, and/or business operations.
- 91% of attendees agreed that attending the Digital Insight Day increased my understanding of how digital learning technologies can be used effectively in my college.
- 93% of attendees agreed that attending the Digital Insight Day increased my confidence in contributing to the strategic direction of digital technology in my college.
