TWO EXCITING LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Curriculum Managers – Construction and Motor Vehicle

Lead a team. Shape a curriculum. Build futures.

Some leadership roles are about maintaining what already exists. Others offer the opportunity to build, develop and make a lasting difference.

At Abingdon & Witney College, we have two exciting opportunities for ambitious leaders to shape the future of technical education. We are looking for a Curriculum Manager for Motor Vehicle and a Curriculum Manager for Construction, two distinct roles united by a shared ambition to deliver outstanding vocational education, inspire talented teams and prepare students and apprentices for successful careers. Both departments have strong foundations, opportunities for development and the potential to make an even greater impact. Whether your expertise lies in the fast-evolving automotive sector or the construction industry, this is your chance to make your mark.

CM Construction – Some leadership roles are about keeping things running. This one is about building.

Construction at Abingdon & Witney College has an important role to play in the future of our technical curriculum. We are looking for a Curriculum Manager who sees the potential to develop great vocational teaching, strengthen the relationship between College and industry, create ambitious experiences for students and build clear routes into skilled employment, apprenticeships and further study.

Across the College, Construction is a key area for growth and investment. Our wider provision includes dedicated Construction Skills Centres and investment in Electrical Installation, Sustainable Technologies and low-carbon skills. At Abingdon, the opportunity is to turn that wider ambition into an exceptional experience for students.

CM Motor Vehicle – Drive innovation and build on momentum

There are leadership roles where the first task is to rebuild. There are others where the brief is simply to maintain what is already there. Motor Vehicle at Abingdon & Witney College offers something more exciting: the chance to join a growing department with strong foundations, an ambitious team and genuine scope to shape its next chapter.

Over the past three years, the College has made a significant commitment to Motor Vehicle. Investment in people, curriculum breadth and specialist provision has created a very different department: one with increasing capacity, growing student demand and the confidence to look ahead.

Leadership that makes a difference

Across both roles, you will lead and develop colleagues, champion excellent teaching and assessment, and ensure that curriculum provision remains ambitious, relevant and responsive to employer needs. You will create a positive team culture where people share ideas, develop their practice and take collective responsibility for student success. You will also champion an inclusive learning environment with high expectations, helping students and apprentices build the knowledge, confidence and professional behaviours they need to progress.

From emerging vehicle technologies to sustainable construction, you will help connect classroom learning with real-world industry, creating opportunities through employer partnerships, work experience, specialist workshops and industry-led activities.

The opportunity to shape what comes next

We are committed to technical education that responds to industry, supports regional skills needs and transforms opportunities for learners.

For an experienced Curriculum Manager, these roles offer the chance to lead an important technical curriculum and influence its next stage of development. For an established lecturer or aspiring leader, they offer an opportunity to take the next career step, develop people and make a tangible difference.

We welcome leaders who bring vocational expertise, fresh ideas, a passion for developing others and the ambition to keep improving. What matters is your ability to inspire a team, understand learners and employers, and turn potential into progress.

One opportunity to build the future of Construction. One opportunity to drive the future of Motor Vehicle. Two opportunities to make a real difference.

If you have the leadership, ideas and ambition to take a technical curriculum forward, we would love to hear from you.
