Right for resources to go towards helping people take first steps, says AoC

Responding to the government's announcement on skills funding, Association of Colleges Chief Executive David Hughes said: “Additional investment into skills is always welcome, particularly when it is focused on key priority areas such as construction, digital and healthcare.

“The decision to cut levy funding for apprenticeships at Level 7, where people are pursuing higher level skills, will have been a tough one. However, with finances tight, it is right for resources to go towards helping people take the first steps in their career."
