A Levels Results Day - AoC statements
Students across the country are collecting their A Level results today. In response, David Hughes, Chief Executive of the Association of Colleges, said: “Congratulations to all students receiving their A Level results today.
“While many young people will now be considering going to a university or negotiating the clearing process, it is important to remember there are other more affordable education and training routes available which can lead directly to a career.
“Traditional three-year full-time university degrees have a vitally important role, but it is crucial that young people are aware that further education colleges also offer a wide range of higher level technical and professional education, including apprenticeships and part-time study options. Not only are tuition fees less at a college, living and travelling costs are also much lower because it’s possible to stay at home.
“Whatever the path, I want to offer my congratulations to every student on their results and wish them all the best for their next steps.”
Carole Stott, Chair of the Association of Colleges, said: “Massive congratulations to all those in colleges receiving their A Level results today.
“We must also salute college staff working tirelessly to provide high-quality education and training for their students - they deserve recognition for their efforts.
“Colleges are transformational. They help people make the most of their talents and ambitions and drive social mobility; they help businesses improve productivity and drive economic growth; they are rooted in and committed to their communities and drive tolerance and well-being. They are an essential part of England’s education system.”
