Improving Education Together Board can be a powerful force for good, says AoC

David Hughes, Chief Executive, Association of Colleges, said: “I am pleased, on behalf of the Association of Colleges, to be a member of the new Improving Education Together Board. The ambition is for ministers to be able to work closely with the board to develop and introduce policy that improves education, values the education profession, and boosts opportunity for all.

"Alongside the unions and other employer bodies I am sure that we will see good outcomes from the board because a partnership approach, with honest sharing of views and clarity on the key challenges and opportunities, can be a powerful force for good. The focus on workforce, accountability and SEND are good initial areas to focus on, and we know that in colleges across the country, there are issues and challenges, as well expertise and good practice to share, in all three.”
