Current Opportunity - Governors - Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc)
AoC - Executive Recrutiment are excited to be supporting Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc) with the appointment of new Governors.
Newham Sixth Form College (NewVIc) is well regarded for promoting opportunity, social mobility and economic prosperity within our communities in East London. Rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in 2018, we are a highly performing education provider, synonymous with diversity, inclusivity and aspiration.
The college are currently seeking several new Governors to join the college Corporation (Governing Body) to help achieve their mission of ‘enhancing lives through excellent education and learning’. The Corporation makes an important contribution to the life of the college and, therefore, to the students by ensuring that the vision and policies are appropriate and that it is well run by our Executive Leadership Team. The focus of its attention should be on strategy and the Corporation acts as a decision making body.
A passion for education and for improving opportunity and social mobility is key, as is the commitment to contribute to the team. Previous Governor experience is not required as you will benefit from a well-supported induction and training programme.
At present the Corporation seeks to appoint, in particular, individuals with skills and experience profiles covering one or more of the following:
Finance (particularly qualified accountants)
Capital projects
Teaching, learning and assessment
