Company Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance Salary: Circa £45,000 (plus London weighting where applicable) Location: Homebased but with travel to London/Leeds AoC Create are delighted to support WEA in recruiting a Company Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance. WEA is a voluntary movement and charitable organisation founded in 1903 and with a £30m turnover it is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. With 9 regional bases across the UK it provides courses for individuals from a wide cross section of the community including those from social, economic and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. In this busy but exciting role, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that WEA complies with relevant legislation and regulations, providing the board with objective and professional advice. They will manage and attend all relevant meetings, ensuring that due process and compliance with governance aspects of company and charity law is conducted.
