Freya’s T Level Distinction secures her place to study Midwifery

Freya Bamber was thrilled to achieve a Distinction in her Adult Nursing T Level at B&FC – a result that secures her place to study Midwifery at the University of Cumbria.

Freya, who originally attended Millfield High School, chose a T Level route instead of A Levels because of the blend of practical and academic learning it offered.

A key appeal of the programme was the work placement element, which saw Freya gain experience across various departments at Blackpool’s NHS Teaching Hospitals.

Freya began her placement in the Acute Medical Unit, which she described as one step down from the intensity of A&E, before moving on to Haematology – a calmer but equally rewarding environment.

She also had the opportunity to spend time with the Maternity Team, an experience she found especially inspiring given her passion for midwifery.

Freya said: “My baby sister was born by emergency C-section, and that sparked an interest in becoming a midwife, which has just grown and grown.”

“Doing the T Level and having the opportunity to complete an extended industry placement has made me 100% confident that I’ve chosen the right career path – I can’t think of anything better than bringing new life into the world.”

Freya’s advice to anyone considering a T Level pathway was simple.

She said: “Work hard and don’t let anyone convince you that you can’t do it, because you can.”
