Dr Shaid Mahmood MBE is Chair of the Association of Colleges and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at Durham University where in addition to driving a more inclusive culture, he is working closely with local FE colleges to develop more effective partnerships between the University and FE. Passionate about the capacity for education to transform lives and with 30 years of leadership contributions in business, industry, science and engineering, education and local government, he works with a wide range of systems leaders and partners and holds several non-executive roles in education and sport. Shaid was awarded the ‘UK’s Most Inspiring Person of the Year’ and was honoured with an MBE for services to education.
