Professor David Olusoga OBE, historian, writer, broadcaster, and Professor of Public History, University of Manchester
David Olusoga is a British-Nigerian historian, author, broadcaster and BAFTA-winning filmmaker. He is Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester and a columnist for The Observer. His acclaimed BBC programmes include A House Through Time, Black & British: A Forgotten History, Union with David Olusoga and Britain's Forgotten Slave Owners.
He has written several award-winning books, including Black & British: A Forgotten History, The World's War and Black & British: A Short Essential History. His latest book, co-written with his sisters Yinka and Kemi Olusoga, is Black History for Every Day of the Year.
David is a Fellow of several leading cultural and academic institutions and has received the British Academy's President's Medal, the Norton Medlicott Medal and the 2023 BAFTA Special Award.
