CEO, Stemettes and Department for Education’s Enrichment Ambassador for Life and Future Skills
Professor Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE was the youngest girl to pass A-level computing, aged 11, and earned a Master’s in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford at 20.
Her career includes roles at Goldman Sachs, Hewlett-Packard and Deutsche Bank. She has received eight honorary doctorates and an Honorary Fellowship from Keble College, Oxford.
She has chaired the Institute for the Future of Work and UD Music Foundation, served as President of the British Science Association, and appeared as temporary Arithmetician on Channel 4’s Countdown. She became Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University in 2024, the Government’s Women in Tech Envoy in 2025, and the Department for Education’s Life and Future Skills Enrichment Ambassador and an Honorary Professor at GCU in 2026.
She co-founded Stemettes, an award-winning initiative that has introduced more than 70,000 young people across Europe to STEM. Her 2022 book, She’s in CTRL, helps women take back tech.
