Carole Drury

Carole is a highly experienced governance consultant with her own business but worked in the FE sector for most of her working life, as a lecturer, middle and senior manager, governance professional and more recently as a National Leader of Governance. Her varied leadership experience within colleges including student support, safeguarding, curriculum development, higher education, business development and quality assurance has provided Carole with a strong background to conduct board reviews and make recommendations for improving governance.

Carole has worked on board reviews since their introduction as part of the AoC/ETF pilot team and has now carried out a significant number of reviews of both general FE colleges and 6^th form colleges as well as moderating the reviews of other members of the team.

As a former National Subject Specialist and National Leader of Governance, Carole is highly experienced in providing support to college boards in governance improvement and through individual guidance for governance professionals. Recently Carole has been involved in the development, assessment and verification of the pilot level 6 and 7 qualifications for governance professionals through ETF and Institute of Directors.
