Netball Rep Team

The AoC National Colleges Netball team has been operating for over 20 years, providing a unique and exciting opportunity for talented netball players to represent their country through high-quality domestic and international fixtures. The programme showcases the very best of college netball, offering players the chance to perform at the best representative level while continuing their further education journey.

Our Ambitions

AoC Sport National Colleges Netball team represents the pinnacle of college netball. Our representative teams exist to:

Develop an aspirational netball programme that inspires players to reach their full potential both on and off the court.
Provide a high-quality representative pathway for players in further education, enabling them to compete at national and international level while gaining valuable competitive experience.
Identify players within college netball who demonstrate outstanding ability and place them within a high-performance environment that promotes both sporting and academic excellence.
Support players in raising their aspirations, encouraging progression into higher levels of netball and continued success in education.
Identify and develop talented coaches and support staff working within the further education sector.
Track the progression of players, coaches, and staff beyond their involvement, using their success to inspire future generations.
Work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to ensure the continued growth, sustainability, and impact of the AoC sport programme.

Philosophy

The philosophy of the AoC Sport National Colleges Netball programme combines high-performance sport with strong educational values. The programme is designed to challenge, support, and develop individuals within a holistic framework. Key elements include:

Competing in appropriate, high-level fixtures against strong national and international opposition to provide meaningful match experience.

England Colleges Netball Trials

Trial Information

Players are identified through a trial process across the AoC Sport membership. All AoC Sport members and associates are encouraged to nominate players for the national netball team from September until the closing date, which is Friday 9 October 2026.

Before submitting a nomination, please ensure that players meet the Netball Player Selection Criteria for 2026–27.

There is a maximum number of trial places available. If oversubscribed, players will be shortlisted based on the information provided in the nomination form. Please ensure all sections are fully completed.
A waiting list will be created in case of withdrawals. A maximum of 20 players will be selected from the trials.

National Staff

Julie Kimber - Head Coach
I am a UKCC Level 3 Netball Coach with over 35 years of coaching experience. I am currently work as the Sports Academy Lead and Head of Netball at Gateshead College. I am also Performance Lead and U15 Head Coach for North Durham County and Boldon Senior Head Coach. For the past 16 years, I have worked as AoC Head Coach, leading teams in national college competitions and helping athletes progress through performance pathways. I have also gained valuable international experience coaching within the Northern Ireland Senior Squad and Scotland U17 and U19 national programmes as well as coaching in Zambia and Trinidad and Tobago. I bring a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and knowledge to every coaching environment. My coaching philosophy centres on creating high-performing cultures, developing confident and resilient athletes, and inspiring players to achieve their ambitions while enjoying the game that I am so passionate about.
