Skateboarding

Skateboarding is an action sport that combines athletic skill, creativity, and self-expression. It involves riding and performing tricks on a skateboard—a flat board mounted on wheels—across different terrains such as streets, parks, ramps, and purpose-built skate facilities.

Skateboard GB is the national governing body for skateboarding in Great Britain, responsible for developing the sport from grassroots participation through to elite Olympic performance. Established in 2017, it works to support skaters by improving facilities, providing coaching and organising competitions, while also selecting and preparing the British skateboarding team for events such as the Olympic Games. The organisation promotes a “by skateboarders, for skateboarders” approach, aiming to grow the sport’s culture and accessibility across the UK and inspire future generations through both community initiatives and international success.
