This conference brings together colleagues from across further education to explore the evolving landscape of sport, physical activity, fitness and active leisure curriculum delivery. With significant changes taking place across post-16 education and qualifications, the conference will provide an opportunity to consider what these developments mean for colleges and how curriculum teams can respond effectively.

Designed for staff with responsibility for planning and delivering sport and physical activity study programmes, the conference will provide a space to share practice, explore new approaches and consider the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.

Throughout the conference, there will be an emphasis on discussion, practical ideas, sharing practice and networking, with sessions aiming to:

  • Support colleges to develop high-quality, inclusive and responsive sport and physical activity curricula
  • Explore the implications of qualification and curriculum reforms for sport provision in further education
  • Address key issues and emerging priorities affecting curriculum planning and delivery
  • Enhance approaches to teaching, learning, assessment and student outcomes
  • Share innovative practice and practical approaches that can be applied within college settings
  • Explore opportunities to strengthen relationships with employers, industry, external partners and other organisations
  • Consider how sport and physical activity curricula can support progression, employability and the changing needs of students and industry
