Powerlifting

AoC Sport is delighted to partner with British Powerlifting to deliver a dedicated Powerlifting Development Day for college students interested in strength training, performance sport and personal development.

Whether students are completely new to powerlifting or already training regularly, this exciting day will provide a practical introduction to the sport, opportunities to learn from experienced coaches and athletes, and insight into progression routes within powerlifting.

What is Powerlifting?

Powerlifting is a strength sport based around three lifts:

  • Squat
  • Bench Press
  • Deadlift

Athletes compete by lifting the maximum weight possible in each discipline, combining strength, technique, discipline and determination.

Powerlifting continues to grow in popularity across the UK, offering opportunities for participation, competition, coaching, officiating and volunteering.
