Negotiating with Trade Unions – 5 February 2015, Birmingham

AoC Create’s invaluable workshop for college staff who negotiate with union officials at a national and/or local level will be running again in February. The session is run by George Getlevog, a senior HR professional who has worked for more than a decade as a senior union official with the TGWU (now Unite), and 10 years as Head of Employee Relations at Severn Trent Water. The programme is designed to offer practical tips and support for common issues faced by colleges, including dealing with headcount reduction, unacceptable behaviour by union representatives and managing failure to agree which can lead to unions refusing to negotiate. “Very enjoyable and useful day – plenty of food for thought.
