British Dodgeball Launches New Opportunities for Colleges
British Dodgeball is making it easier than ever for colleges to introduce dodgeball to students through a range of new education and competition opportunities.
Recognising the challenges colleges face when introducing new activities and managing budgets, British Dodgeball has developed a series of initiatives designed to make dodgeball accessible, affordable and engaging for students across the further education sector.
Whether you're looking to enhance your enrichment offer, create new participation opportunities, or provide coaching and leadership pathways for students, there are now a number of ways to get involved.
Free College Tutor Training Scheme
The British Dodgeball College Tutor Training Scheme provides colleges with the tools and training needed to deliver dodgeball independently.
The scheme includes free training for up to two members of staff, a delivery licence and a complimentary equipment pack, enabling colleges to deliver British Dodgeball courses and workshops at a significantly reduced rate.
The tutor training programme consists of:
- An online Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball
- A regional face-to-face tutor training day taking place during November and December
- A delivery licence enabling colleges to run British Dodgeball Level 1 courses and introductory workshops
This provides colleges with a sustainable way to embed dodgeball within their sport, enrichment and leadership programmes while developing staff knowledge and confidence.
Compete in the New College Championships
Alongside the tutor training offer, British Dodgeball is launching its new College Championships, featuring nine regional tournaments taking place between November and March.
The tournaments are free to enter and colleges can bring up to two teams to compete. Following the success of pilot events held last year, the championships aim to provide students with more opportunities to represent their college, experience competitive sport and connect with other participants from across the region.
What Colleges Receive for Free
By taking advantage of these opportunities, colleges can receive:
- Level 1 Award in Coaching Dodgeball for up to two tutors
- A dodgeball equipment pack containing 10 dodgeballs
- A face-to-face British Dodgeball Tutor Training Session for two tutors
- The ability to deliver British Dodgeball courses and workshops at reduced rates
- Entry for up to two teams into a regional dodgeball tournament
The tutor training pathway enables colleges to offer:
- Level 1 Awards at £40 per student
- Introductory Workshops from as little as £8.33 per student
