JDE and AOC – building the darts future of FE

Last saw the launch of the AOC Darts Championship – powered by the JDE team and it was a great success.

Sam Strickson, Partnerships and Programmes Development at AoC Sport states:

"The AoC Darts Championship demonstrated just how much enthusiasm exists for darts across the further education sector. Working alongside Junior Darts Education allows us to provide students with more opportunities to get active, represent their college and engage with a sport that is becoming increasingly popular with young people. We're excited to see even more colleges and students involved this year"

Gary Horsley (Director of Education and Community Projects) comments:  “last year events went really well and we are excited to launch our Learning Centre scheme for FE and 6 form colleges This includes an annual subscription that includes access to the AOC championship but also a host of educational resources to help colleges start their darts education journey.  For the colleges that really want to develop – we also have a Performance Centre scheme that looks at a Darts Academy model for players and students that have interest in working or playing in darts.  Both schemes are fully supported by Winmau (with educational discounts available for all learning centres, the PDC and other partners in the darts world.  This really is an exciting time for darts and education.”
