AoC Sport National Championship 2024 is heading back to University of Nottingham.

6th October 2023

We are pleased to announce that the AoC Sport National Championship 2024 will be returning to the University of Nottingham on 19 – 21 April 2024.

The AoC Sport National Championships, one of the largest annual student sporting events in the UK, is a celebration of competitive sport in further education and sixth form colleges and provides recognition, enjoyment and a unique opportunity for students to compete and meet their peers from across the country.

More than 1500 student-athletes from across further education and sixth form colleges compete and represent their region, with the winning region awarded the coveted Wilkinson Sword Trophy.

13 different sports take place across the three days of competition and we are delighted to be returning to the University of Nottingham and their superb sporting facilities, including the David Ross Sports Village and Highfields Sports Ground. Other local facilities, such as the Nottingham Wildcats Arena and Nottingham Hockey Centre are also expected to host events.

The competing team at the AoC Sport National Championship, will be decided at regional tournaments that are delivered in the autumn of 2023 by AoC Sport.

Dean Hardman, AoC Sport Director said: “The University of Nottingham really has become synonymous with the AoC Sport national championships, having hosted the event for the past five editions. We are absolutely delighted to be coming back in 2024 – it's the perfect venue for college sport, with world class facilities and a beautiful campus, alongside a brilliantly supportive staff team. Roll on April!”

University of Nottingham said “We are delighted to be hosting the AoC Sport National Championships once again and look forward to welcoming all the teams and competitors back to Nottingham in 2024. The National Championships bring an amazing buzz and excitement around campus making use of our halls of residences as a dedicated athletes village and our world-class facilities at the David Ross Sports Village, Jubilee Sports Centre, Highfields Sports Complex and Nottingham Hockey centre. The quality of competition is always phenomenal to watch and we can’t wait to see the action again next year.”
