40 competitors of the AoC Sport Fitness Trainer have been invited to The National Qualifier

07 December 2022

AoC Sport Fitness Trainer Competition is a health and fitness skills competition for students in further education. There are 4 stages of the competition, and the National Qualifier is the 3rd stage before the final.

To be invited to the National Qualifier, competitors had to complete the Passive stage task, which was an online test, testing competitors’ knowledge and understanding of Personal Training in areas such as general understanding, planning an effective session, social media & promotional activity.

The 40 competitors who will be competing at the National Qualifier stage, will be given a full task and criteria detailing exactly what is expected during the event. The competitors will have 30 minutes to complete and demonstrate the following:

  • Plan and deliver a PT session to a client or clients, over Zoom.
  • Demonstrate a series of exercises over Zoom.

Before their sessions, all competitors will need to submit a planning task.

The National Qualifier is delivered and judged virtually, over a video conferencing programme.

Angus Milligan, AoC Sport Fitness Trainer Competition Lead, said “We are thrilled to now be reaching the live stages of the competition. This year engagement and interest in the competition has grown and the passive stage was more competitive than ever. Those competitors reaching the top 40 should be proud of their achievements so far. Our expert judging team is very excited to meet and see this year's competitors, delivering as PTs and showing their knowledge, talent, and understanding of personal training. Congratulations and good luck to all competitors taking part in the National Qualifier!”

The AoC Sport Fitness Trainer National Qualifier, sponsored by Pearson BTEC Sport and Physical Activity, will take place from Monday, 16 January to Friday, 20 January 2023.
