June's Spotlight - Loughborough College

Welcome to the #TalentFactory We are proud of our world-renowned reputation for sport at Loughborough College. Over 100 years ago Loughborough College Principal, Herbert Schofield, made educating the mind and the body central to his student welfare philosophy. Now, Loughborough College hosts many of the country's highest-performing athletes, allowing learners the chance to enjoy an unrivaled sporting education offer, which is so positive it’s life-shaping!

In partnership with Loughborough College and Loughborough University, the NFL Academy aims to create pathways into further education, employment, and NCAA college football in the United States.

Loughborough College is one of only a handful of Talented Athlete Support Scheme (TASS) Dual Career Centres, which helps a select group of students balance their academic study with high-performance sport.

Loughborough College is also an AoC Sport National Inclusion Hub, one of only 12 in the country. We are also proudly an AoC Sport Leadership Academy providing learners volunteering opportunities to become inclusion ambassadors, ‘This Girl Can’ ambassadors, or Mental Health Ambassadors.

Loughborough College was selected to become an AoC Sport officiating hub, working with the FA and ECB to create more officials for football and cricket.

How do you incorporate education?

Loughborough College offers learners courses in sport from level 1 through degree programmes (validated by Loughborough University). Learners can study A-Levels or vocational courses at the college and we ensure that education is wrapped around the learners sporting commitments. We want learners to follow a dual career (academics and sports) to ensure that we create successful learners that have lots of options for future endeavors.
