For their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Kea produced a script for a screen play based on a pilot episode of a children's television programme on Arthurian legends. They have been interested in Arthurian Mythology and retellings since childhood, so wanted to combine their interests and aspirations within their project. They started by looking at previous tv and film examples based around myths and legends. Extensive research was gathered around script writing, and they consulted a script writing expert. Kea interviewed a screenwriter to gain expertise around the creation of a screenplay and produced a screenplay script of a high standard. Kea created a highly original and innovative EPQ project. In their presentation to showcase their work, they provided an insightful and thought-provoking reflection on their EPQ journey, explaining their highs and lows in the development of their project. Kea found completing the EPQ project challenging but hugely rewarding. They will use what they learnt and created to support them with their future interests around screen writing and film development. Kea’s interest in Film, Television and Screenwriting continues and they are moving on to study Film and Television Production at university next year.
