Study Visit - Southern Regional College

Colleges as connectors: building stronger pathways into skills, work and opportunity

This study visit will explore how colleges can act as strategic connectors – working collectively, with employers and with schools to create stronger routes into skills, employment and opportunity. Drawing on practice at Southern Regional College and across the Northern Ireland college system, we will explore how specialisation and collaboration can strengthen the college network, how colleges can support employers to innovate and grow, and how stronger school partnerships and 14-16 provision can create alternative pathways for young people who may benefit from a different route into further education and work.

The visit will explore some of the distinctive features of the Northern Irish system, including the curriculum hub model, innovation voucher, and its role in supporting 14-16 provision.
